Do I need to weigh in with my Gi?

No, weigh-ins are without the Gi.

Is there any weight allowance?

No, there is strictly zero weight allowance

  • Missing weight will result in disqualification (DQ).
  • You cannot switch categories on the day.
  • No changes can be made after the amendment’s deadline (7 days before each event).
What if I’m competing in two or more different weight classes?

If, for example, you are in Gi (-73.5kg) and No-Gi (-79.5kg), you must weigh under the lower weight class to compete in both.

When can I weigh in?

Weigh-ins start as soon as the doors open, 7:45 AM for Kids/Juveniles and 9:00 AM for Adult/Master/ on event day for this event.

What’s the latest I can weigh in?

You must weigh in at least 60 minutes before your division starts.

  • It’s your responsibility to check the start time of your division on Smoothcomp, which updates in real-time.
  • For example, if your division starts at 1:35pm, you must weigh in by 12:35pm at the latest.
  • We recommend arriving early to complete your weigh-in.
Am I allowed to leave the venue after weighing in?

Yes, you may leave the venue after completing your weigh-in. However, you must return and be prepared to compete no later than 60 minutes before your division’s scheduled start time.

Can I sign up for Absolute categories on event day?

No, all Absolute registrations must be completed before registration closes.

Can I wear a t-shirt while competing?

No, t-shirts are not allowed.

Can I wear socks while competing?

No, socks are not permitted.

Can I wear a rash guard under my Gi?

Yes, wearing a rash guard under your Gi is allowed.

Are there any restrictions on Gi colour?

No, any colour Gi is allowed as long as it fits according to IBJJF regulations.

Can I wear any colour No-Gi gear, or does it have to be ranked?

Any colour No-Gi gear is permitted.

Can I wear shorts with pockets?

No, shorts must have no pockets or zippers.

Can I walk around barefoot?

No, you must wear footwear at all times unless you’re on a warm-up or competition mat.

Can I compete without a top?

No, you must wear be wearing a Gi jacket (Gi) or a rash guard (No-Gi) during competition.

Do I need to keep my wristband on all day?

Yes, your wristband must be worn throughout the event, or you may be asked to leave.

Can I wear wrestling boots while competing?

No, footwear is not allowed during competition.

Can I wear a groin guard?

No, groin guards are illegal and will result in a DQ.

Is a gum shield mandatory?

No, but we strongly recommend wearing one for your safety.

What happens if I don’t have an opponent?

You can move to another eligible category, or we will issue a full refund after the amendment’s deadline.

How long do refunds take?

Refunds usually take 5-10 working days to appear in your account after being processed.
